Spee-Dee Delivery values the relationships we have built with our customers. In order to provide transparency, we need to alert our customers that there are potential service delays within specific areas of the footprint we serve. This spring we experienced a higher than normal package volume in addition to ongoing staffing challenges. Businesses in general struggle to find qualified employees; Spee-Dee Delivery (and the transportation industry as a whole) are not immune to these challenges. We continue to recruit quality employees throughout our service area. In an effort to maintain the service levels that our shippers are accustomed to, we have made a decision to temporarily curtail the onboarding of new Spee-Dee Delivery customers. In the 2018 Spee-Dee Delivery rate announcement we had indicated the likelihood of lowering our oversize package dimensional threshold from 130” down to 120” (length + girth combined). While the national carriers continue to add new accessorial fees that have an adverse impact on shippers, Spee-Dee Delivery has decided not to follow suit. After further discussion and feedback from our customers, we have decided not to implement this change in 2019 as proposed. Our oversize charges will continue to apply to packages measuring 130” to 170” (length + girth combined).

The theme we have chosen to commemorate our anniversary – The Great Spee-Dee Road Trip – represents the journey we have taken to reach this milestone. There have been unexpected encounters and obstacles along the way; however, through the hard work of over 1,700 Spee-Dee Delivery employees we continue to meet those challenges and persevere. We are also fortunate to have a loyal customer base throughout the upper Midwest – including several that have grown their businesses alongside ours since the inception of Spee-Dee Delivery.
